The Mooresville Soup Kitchen Welcomes Vickie Traynum
Founded in 1987, the Mooresville Soup Kitchen is a nondenominational, faith-based organization whose goal is to provide nourishing meals, fellowship, support and encouragement to any person in need. The Soup Kitchen serves more than 4,000 meals per month, as well as provides groceries, emergency food boxes, and other necessary resources. The Soup Kitchen provides breakfast and lunch to anyone who comes through the door, as well as an opportunity for interaction with visitors and volunteers through such activities as Bible Studies, devotionals and music.
Vickie comes to the Mooresville Soup Kitchen with an extensive background working with faith-based nonprofit organizations. For the past nine years, Vickie was the owner of 720designs, a consulting firm that focused on marketing, fundraising and event management for a variety of nonprofits. She also served as the operations manager of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship in Raleigh, NC. She received her Bachelor of Arts at Gardner-Webb University and her Master of Divinity from Campbell University.
Vickie will be responsible for serving as the face of the Mooresville Soup Kitchen internally and externally in the Mooresville community. In this role, she will manage the internal operations of the organizations as well as coordinate and participate in the solicitation of funding from foundations, corporations and individual donors. She will also help the Soup Kitchen in this time of growth, which includes the start of their Veteran’s assistance program.
