Ginny Amendum MASENIOR CONSULTANT
Ginny Amendum brings a broad range of Health and Human Services experience to PMA. Her professional career in New York and North Carolina includes public school teaching, early childhood program development and implementation, and non-profit leadership. Ginny brings relevant experience in organizational start-up, operational growth and management, mergers, fundraising, and capital campaigns to PMA. Most recently, Ginny served as President/CEO of Thompson Child and Family Focus in Charlotte, NC, for 12 of her 17 years with the organization, formally retiring in 2013. During Ginny’s tenure, Thompson significantly increased the scope and strength of its services, facilities and financial support. Under her direction, Thompson successfully designed and delivered a model child development program defined by professional service delivery and family engagement, which is utilized broadly in the arena statewide. Ginny also led the expansion of Thompson’s professional mental health services that include a highly specialized psychiatric residential treatment program, diverse community therapies, foster care, and family education programs. Ginny brings experience in mergers, fund raising, and capital campaigns to PMA. In 2009, Ginny completed the final phase of Thompson’s highly successful $10 million capital campaign that supported new state-of-the-art residential and educational buildings on two of its campuses. She initiated 2 mergers with The Family Center (2008) and York Place (2013). During her years at Thompson, the agency built and implemented an effective development plan that raised millions of private philanthropic dollars to support and fulfill the agency’s mission.
Prior to joining Thompson, Ginny enjoyed a successful 20-year career in education as an elementary school teacher and pre-school director in Charlotte and her home state of New York. Ginny received bachelor’s and Masters of Arts degrees in Education from New York State University.
