The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra is the largest professional performing arts organization in the central Carolinas. To meet its vision to become a “best in class” orchestra, the Symphony contemplated a $30 to $40 million campaign to generate a significant increase in endowment funds. The Symphony engaged PMA to assist with careful strategy and planning for the campaign, including assessment of campaign feasibility and timing options. PMA’s work included a survey of regional and national campaign activity, campaign structure and implementation recommendations, case for support development, and a wide variety of stakeholder and prospect interviews. The successful engagement with PMA built community awareness and explored giving capacity and inclination among a variety of stakeholders, including season ticketholders, past and current donors, and potential lead investors throughout the Charlotte region.
