“Leave A Legacy Week” Returns to Charlotte
Monday kicks off the 2nd annual “Leave A Legacy Week” in Charlotte. Bequest giving and its significance is highlighted during the week-long community awareness event. While 80 percent of the public contributes to their favorite charity during their lifetime, only 8 percent will leave a charitable legacy in their estate plan.
“Leave A Legacy Week” is organized by the Leave A Legacy Charlotte Region, in partnership with the North Carolina Planned Giving Council and the Charlotte Estate Planning Council. Planned giving is a vital component for charity success that often goes overlooked.
A Proclamation by Mayor Anthony Foxx kicks off the event, along with many offerings aimed to educate and inform the public about the importance and benefits of a charitable legacy. Print media, radio and television will all be promoting “Leave a Legacy Week” and a banner will hang in center-city Charlotte.
