Funding Resources for Nonprofits
Contributed revenue is a vital lifeline for organizations and a needed component for fueling missions. The current fundraising climate demands that nonprofits take innovative approaches to fund development, leveraging resources to maximize returns. PMA helps nonprofits develop the platform and tools necessary to support effective fundraising activities. Below are some examples of PMA assignments.
The CFIDS Association of America (Charlotte, NC)
Summary: In 2012, The CFIDS Association of America embarked on a comprehensive effort to rebrand and restructure the organization in order to better articulate and serve the organization’s mission. PMA contracted with the Association to provide an organizational assessment, as well as planning and development support. In conjunction with these efforts, PMA also conducted a search for two new staff members – a Director of Development and an Engagement Manager – who will help to implement the rebranding and development efforts of the Association. PMA succeeded in developing a robust candidate pool, with the finalists working to implement a fundraising plan of PMA’s creation.
Charlotte Preparatory School (Charlotte, NC)
Summary: After years of growth and success as a private for-profit K-8 school, a dedicated group of parents worked throughout 2011 and early 2012 to develop the nonprofit construct to allow for the purchase of the school. Now managed by a volunteer board of directors, the school called upon PMA to assist with the development of a comprehensive contributed revenue development plan, as well as the hiring and on-boarding of a new Director of Development. PMA is in the final months of its work with CPS, with the school’s first annual fund campaign set to start in the fall of 2012.
Charlotte Rescue Mission (Charlotte, NC)
Summary: With an ambitious goal of nearly doubling their annual income, Charlotte Rescue Mission engaged PMA to develop a detailed and quantifiable fundraising plan to drive that goal to reality. To develop the plan, PMA took CRM through a rigorous analysis of their on-going development strategies and assessment of the staff and board’s existing development practices. PMA also performed extensive comparable research of Rescue Missions and direct response mail companies across the country. As a result and with the full partnership of an enthusiastic Charlotte Rescue Mission, PMA developed a comprehensive, top-down strategy that the ministry has embraced and one that has energized the organization in their friend and fundraising efforts.
