Bethlehem Center Blends Corporate & Individual Appeals at Successful Luncheon
Bethlehem Center of Charlotte (BC) hosted its 3rd annual “Laughs, Lunch, & Legacy” luncheon on July 30 for over 250 attendees. Featured speakers included a testimonial from Romaya Robinson, a BC alum and recent graduate from Myers Park High School, as well as Novant Health’s Chief Consumer Officer, Jesse Cureton, also an alum of the program. PMA Consulting LLC was a proud sponsor of the event and also served as strategic counsel for the organization as it designed its outreach and sponsorship plan.
Both speakers described the Bethlehem Center’s positive impact on their lives as youth, and the event also showcased a performance from children who benefit from the Center’s programs. Cureton noted, “he’s the statistic…raised by a teenage mother…in a low-income environment…” Cureton’s mother, Mrs. Pearlie Cureton-Borders, was in attendance as well.
Established in 1940 by the United Methodist Women, the Bethlehem Center of Charlotte aims to enrich the lives of underprivileged youth and families. Their services include early childhood development, after school enrichment, and programs for teenagers that promote healthy lifestyles. The Bethlehem Center also offers camps, parent classes, and scholarships for college or trade school. 96% of participants graduate high school.
“We really enjoyed our strategic partnership with Bethlehem Center,” noted Wendy Fu, consultant at PMA. “It was more than just driving attendance to the luncheon but also the opportunity to help them leverage media partnerships as exemplified by their presenting sponsor, Piedmont Natural Gas. Over 100 radio spots were heard by over 250,000 listeners on 102.9 The Lake to broaden awareness throughout the Charlotte community. We think this will build the Center’s audience far beyond the luncheon itself.”
