AFP Charlotte’s January Program
AFP Charlotte kicks off 2013 with the a new chapter program titled “Board Engagement in Fundraising – Yes, there is some science to this and methods behind the madness!” Recent research indicates that board engagement in fundraising is linked with meeting fundraising objectives. Factors such as board size, recruitment and engagement strategies all play a role in how effectively a nonprofit utilizes its board. In this program, Melissa Brown (from Melissa S. Brown & Associates) presents a research study that examines how effective boards can and do work. She will present her research at the workshop and will be accompanied by fellow consultant members who will provide anecdotal support for this exciting research.
